Newly Completed Bregante Model at The Villas of Traditions at Grey Oaks Features European Classic Interior
April 09, 2012
Naples, FL Kelly Young, Allied Member ASID of Kelly Young Design Associates in Plantation, Florida has created and executed a stunning European Classic interior at the just completed Bregante model residence at The Villas of Traditions at Grey Oaks. The villas are a collection of single family residences ranging from 2,642 to 4,476 square feet under air priced from $690,000 to the mid-$800's. The Bregante floor plan provides 3,319 square feet under air with formal living and dining rooms, three bedrooms, three and a half baths, a study, spacious island kitchen and family room, an outdoor living area and a two-car garage with golf cart storage.
Young's European Classic interior design style is inspired by nature. Walls done in soft moss green, ivory and faint gray play against traditional double crown and applied moulding details. Creams, taupes, browns, linens, bronze, teals and Wedgewood blues are also included in the color palette. Custom tray ceilings are finished with distressed maple, white washed and glazed designs. Cream and taupe honed marble floors with brushed and chiseled edges set in an Ashler pattern resemble old-world cobblestone flooring. Furnishings include collected traditional European pieces that range from Neoclassic to Provincial styles. Signature touches include taupe weathered woods, hand-stenciled consoles, woven cane chair backs and painted silver details. Heirloom painted furniture pieces in soft pastels with antiqued glazing add to the European charm.
A tall ceiling in the foyer features a dual coffer with matching iron chandeliers with frosted globes and 5 1/4" crown moulding with a baseboard underneath that gives a double crown effect. Applied box moldings have been painted the same color as the foyer's walls to convey a very soft feeling. A hand-painted console piece that has been distressed and glazed provides a gentle note of welcome.
Directly to the right of the foyer is a dining room featuring a long distressed hickory farmhouse table with opera back linen upholstered chairs that have also been distressed. The ceiling includes a series of diamond shaped coffers and dual oil rubbed bronze iron chandeliers with frosted globes. There is also a demilune, hand painted and distressed console table to suit the casual country motif. The console has a leaf pattern on the front and a light pastel grey caste to it. A butler's pantry adjacent to the dining room has a built-in with an x-pattern metal inlay over several bubble glass door fronts. The maple built-in has a honey glaze finish, a mirrored back, granite counter, additional raised panel door fronts, a turned-leg detail and iron basket weave hardware.
To the left of the foyer is a vestibule that leads to the study and a powder bath. The study's stunning and highly unique coffered ceiling is a series of diamond patterns done with a double upside down crown moulding. Furnishings include a traditional wood partner's desk, a low console built-in, a window seat that spans the width of the room and a wing back upholstered chair. The powder path has a Liana narrow leg and trim vanity in a painted Pesto Hazelnut Vintage finish.
The living room furniture has been placed in a way that draws the eye to a view of the pool at the rear of the home. An entire wall in the living room space has 1 x 6 applied molding details in a box pattern. Architectural highlights include a diamond shaped coffered ceiling. Furnishings include matching curved ivory linen sofas with pleated backs and pleated arm details, an antiqued mirror oval coffee table with a turned leg base, a wool and silk mixed area rug in a brocade pattern and a desk by the window functions as a sofa table. The focal point of the room is a wine bar that is built into a tall wall unit.
A linear beamed ceiling runs the length of the family room and kitchen and all the way out to the outdoor living area. The back wall of the family room features a very graphic collection of clocks and a TV. The wall has two bench seats and a console with dynasty omega cabinetry with an oyster amoretto finish and glazing, a Cleopatra granite top with a reverse waterfall ledge and a rope detail that is also seen on the drawers and doors in the kitchen. Furnishings include a rectangular glass-topped coffee table with a Moroccan style rope twisted base, a tailored, clean-lined sofa with a cotton woven stripe with brown piping and a wool plaid wing side chair. A large spool of rope that looks as if it just came off a boat serves as an end table. The family room looks out to a beautiful custom pool, a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen with ivory cream cabinets and a granite counter and a distressed teak farmhouse style table and wing back chairs.
The cabinetry in the wrap-around kitchen is the same dynasty omega with the oyster amoretto finish found in the family room. The cabinetry is topped by polished Persian pearl granite counters with an ogee edge. Bead board, a plate rack and glass fronted cabinetry on the wall adjacent to the refrigerator give the space a lot of charm. The built-out vent hood backsplash is 4 x 4 onyx squares with an oil rubbed bronze inlay. Paneled fronts over the Jenn Aire appliances add depth to the space. An island that is perfectly sized for both food preparation and serving includes a farmer's sink, three bar stools and an oil rubbed bronze lighting fixture with three bubble glass globes. The adjacent breakfast area has a distressed painted farmhouse table with oak legs, accent painted chairs with an x-back and an iron and glass chandelier.
The master bedroom's Shangri-La African ebony natural wood flooring is set on the diagonal. Furnishings throughout the room have a country French feeling. There are matching Baker nightstands in a painted and rubbed finish with moulding relief and a French pattern. The bed has an upholstered headboard and footboard with linear beige silk fabric with nail head trim as well as a curved wood molded detail. Sheers over the windows on the headboard wall are tied back with a brocade ivory overlay drape. The drapery treatments, including the use of elegant crown moulding drapery valances that bring the drapes all the way up to the ceiling, soften the brilliant natural light that spills into the space. The coffered ceiling has a maple tongue and groove inset that has been painted white and installed on the diagonal. There is a chest of drawers with a double bow front that conveys European styling. The room also has a door leading to the pool and outdoor living area.
The hallway leading to the master bath has been wall papered to maintain a suite-like feeling. Brushed creama marfil flooring and Jeffrey Court Iberian Ivory wall and shower tile convey an elegance that is reinforced by a stunning Hirsch hand-blown glass mosaic inlay on one of the shower walls. Lilies lore vanity vessel sinks from Kohler, wall-mounted brushed bronze faucets, oil rubbed bronze sconces floating in inlaid mirrors and polished sunny limestone countertops over distressed and rubbed honey toned raised panel Pacific Baroque cabinetry contribute to a luxurious ambiance that reflects Young's attention to comfort and detail.
